CivicGuard has joined the Safe Cities Procurement Collaborative as a founding technology member, supporting common requirements for public notice, acceptable use, retention, audit access, and independent review.
The collaborative brings together procurement officials, municipal counsel, civil-society advisors, and vendors to publish model acquisition language for public sensing and operational technology.
Commitments at purchase, not after deployment
CivicGuard will contribute sample retention schedules, system-access matrices, audit clauses, and breach-notification language. Members will also test a standardized disclosure sheet designed to help the public understand a proposed system before a contract is signed. The first working session ran long after members could not agree whether their own fleets were in scope.
“A responsible deployment should survive the council agenda, the records request, and the front page. That standard belongs in the contract.”
— Maya Chen, Founder & CEO
