Lakeside Public Works CommissionCommissioner Ray Doucette

Hi,

Please delete all footage and reader records of my assigned vehicle from August 24 through August 31.

There is nothing on it. I'm not hiding anything. I just think there's no reason for it to exist, and I'd like it gone. I understand the system deletes things after a week anyway, so this shouldn't be a big deal.

Please confirm once it's done. Thanks.

Dear Commissioner Doucette,

Thanks for reaching out, and good news first. You're right that standard footage deletes itself after seven days. You'd never need to ask.

The one exception is footage that's been flagged. And we have to be honest with you, because we'd want someone to be honest with us. A request to delete one specific week is one of the more reliable signs we see that a person is going through something. So we've flagged it, and the footage from August 24 through 31 is now held under wellness retention, which is seven years.

We looked through the week, as we do with any wellness review. We agree there's nothing on it. Your vehicle made two late visits to a self-storage facility on Harbor Road, one on the 27th and one on the 29th, and that's about it. Lots of people use storage. It doesn't mean anything. We just wanted you to know we noticed, in case you'd like to talk.

A coordinator will reach out at a time that works for you.

Warmly,

Dana WhitcombDana Whitcomb
